The grapes for this wine were harvested in four separate lots, between Sept. 26th and Oct. 22nd, a span of almost four weeks. Each vineyard block was picked at optimal maturity and ...more all were fermented in small open top tanks with manual punchdown. The finished wine has intense blackberry and cassis aromas, along with caramel and violets, and the smoky-gamy-bacony signature so unique to Syrah. It is full and rich without being overbearing and has enough chewy tannin to age gracefully for a few years if you can resist drinking it now.

The wine is a beautiful garnet color with a nose of roasted blueberries, cinnamon and vanilla. On the palate, the flavor of plush fresh fruit is ripe, round and wonderfully balanced. All the way through to its velvety finish, this wine is a stunner and will pair beautifully with grilled and smoked food of all varieties.

This Syrah will pair nicely with the barbeque, my favorite being Tri Tip. Only 160 cases were produced.
