2005 Chardonnay
Santa Barbara Vineyards

Santa Barbara County has long been known for its extraordinary conditions for growing certain wine grapes. The east to west valleys serve as weather barriers, allowing the fog and ...morecooler climate to come in and keep the scorching heat and dry weather out. This allows time for the grapes to fully ripen over a longer period of time, which ultimately brings more complexity to the wine.

2005 Merlot
Sierra Foothills Vineyards

Our 2005 Sierra Foothills Merlot was brought to us by our neighbors at Perry Creek in Amador County. The hot dry summer and cool fall evenings make this an ideal location for full ...morebodied Merlot to reach full potential.

The first layer of this deep blue/red colored wine releases aromas of black cassis, leather and vanilla. With the second layer, you will taste a light cherry and oak essence which will open to big bodied tannins bringing you into you third layer of a well balanced and long lasting finish.

As a whole, this Merlot is incredibly well structured, making if perfect for most heavy dishes. Enjoy this wine with any thick pasta, roast or other red meats.

2004 Petite Sirah
Mencarini Vineyards - Lodi

The 2004 Petite Sirah is our very first release and a proud accomplishment. It is an opulent blend of 15% Lodi Zinfandel and 85% Lodi Petite Sirah, both from the Mencarini Vineyard ...mores.

The dark garnet plum color of this wine is enough to get any connoisseur interested. On the nose, this Petite opens with slightly spice and coffee aromas and continues with ripe Bing cherries and blackberries. With further aeration of the wine, the aroma profile develops with more ripened fruit flavors overpowering the spice. The mouth feel is well balanced for a young wine. The fuit flavors continue to ripen and start to pop while the finish leaves you wanting a second glass.

This wine would be best enjoyed with any beef or lamb dish, or even your favorite grilled eggplant recipe. Cheers!

Russian River Valley, Windsor Oaks

One of our first Pinots, from the northeast Russian River Valley. Even in its youth, this wine is creamy, supple and complex, with Queen Anne cherry, chanterelle mushroom and viole ...moret notes overlying a raspberry-vanilla juiciness. Sweetness and spice, everything nice. Seat this guest next to the roast turkey and cranberry sauce.

2005 Charbono Napa Valley
Napa Valley

You may be wondering, what is Charbono? Charbono is not a common grape variety in California. There are only 84 planted acres in the entire state! Genetic testing has determined ...more it to be the same grape as Corbeau, which is grown in the Savoie region of France.

The grapes for our second release of this little known varietal come from the Frediani vineyard which is located just south of the winery here in Calistoga. Planted back in the 1920s, this vineyard produces low yields with the ultimate in flavor concentration.

The wine has a dark, almost opaque purple color. It has a full-bodied palate with flavors of raspberry, plum and chocolate with pronounced, but well-integrated tannins giving it a rich texture and long finish.

At harvest the sugar was 25.1 brix with a total acidity of 0.33 g/100 ml and a pH of 3.79. The grapes were destemmed into a small open-topped fermenter and punched down twice daily by hand. The barrels used were 35% new American oak and 65% two and three year old French oak barrels. The wine was aged in barrel for 16 months. It was bottled without fining or filtration. 293 cases produced.

2003 Simpatico
Howell Mountain

Only 99 cases of this wine was produced, and it represents the premium offering from our Estate vineyards. Normally reserved as a "house wine", we began releasing small batches of ...more the Simpatico in 2001. Bravante Vineyards Simpatico is vineyard-select and then barrel-select, to ensure that this wine is always unique and special. It has beautifully defined fruit flavors of black cherries, and 23 % Cabernet Franc brings luscious blueberry and ripe currant with hints of earth, spice and toasty oak filling the flavor spectrum. The big fruit flavors are seamlessly integrated with refined and highly structured tannic core producing an elegant long and smooth finish. 2004 Di Arie Zinfandel
Amador County

Most of the grapes used for this wine come from a hillside vineyard in Amador County farmed by Vicki Delpart. My style of wine is fully extracted with fruit forward, good balance, ...morea complex mid-palate and a long lingering finish.

This Zinfandel meets all the criteria of my style of wine. It is well balanced with deep color and typical varietal flavor and aroma. The dark berry flavors progress in the mid-palate to cherry and plum and the bold finish of chocolate lingers pleasantly long after the wine is consumed.

2004 “Southern Exposure” Zinfandel
Shenandoah Valley, California

The “Southern Exposure” designation for our wines denotes that we feel the wine has very special qualities. So far, we only had two wines that we felt were worthy of this honor ...more. These were our 2002 and 2003 Zinfandels that were made with grapes coming from the Original Grand Pere Vineyard which is over 100 years old. We feel that the 2004 version of this wine which was also made from grapes mostly coming from the Original Grand Pere Vineyard is worthy of becoming a member of the Southern Exposure family of wines.

The 2004 C.G. Di Arie Zinfandel, “Southern Exposure”® is an incredibly complex wine. Some of the flavors characteristic to Zinfandel as white and black pepper and brier are combined with black current (cassis) and plum which gives the wine a hint of sweetness. The finish has a spicy character with the cardamom background which makes this wine very exotic. This well balanced wine with its unusually long finish fills your mouth without being tannic. Our 2004 “Southern Exposure” Zinfandel has the elegance which compares to a well made Pinot Noir.

Lodi

This Petite Sirah comes from Silva Spoon Vineyards in Lodi. Ron Silva is one of these special growers who are determined to elevate the Lodi Appellation to receive the recognition ...morethat it deserves. This wine was made in our “Submerged Cap Fermentation Tank”. It was aged in French oak barrels for a full year. This well balanced wine starts with the fruit forward of dark berries and ripe plum, which grows in intensity in the mid-palate adding layers of chocolate, coffee and vanilla with a long finish of licorice and mocha.

2005 Petite Sirah Estate Grown
Shenandoah Valley, California

Petite Sirah contains generous amounts of tannin, color, and backbone. Most often used as a blender for just these reasons, it can be difficult to make a varietal wine. Understandi ...moreng these difficulties, we constructed a winemaking plan to maximize the varietal characteristics and minimize bitterness and harshness. The first step was to ensure the fruit had enough varietal character to complement their tannin and color. The grapes were harvested at the peak of ripeness to yield the maximum amount of fruit character possible. These fully mature grapes had the additional advantage of lower amounts of “green” or “harsh” tannins. In order to minimize the remaining “harsh” tannins, our Estate Petit Sirah was fermented in our stainless steel Submerged Cap Fermentation Tanks to ensure the resulting wine tannins would be “soft”. We then aged the wine in French and American oak barrels.

Inky dark purple in color the wine has an elegant nose that begins with blueberries and raspberries. Fruit gives way to cocoa and vanilla. On the palate notes of pencil shavings leads to mint, violets, smoked meats, and white pepper. The acidity in the long pleasant finish balances the tannins and
