Siduri started more than 15 years ago in our native Texas. At the time it was a dream shared by two wine geeks (us!) who wanted nothing more than to move to California and make killer Pinot Noir from the finest vineyards we could find. Today that dream is a reality.

By focusing solely on Pinot Noir from the most prestigious vineyard sites in California and Oregon, and by vinifying each barrel separately by lot, clone, yeast and cooper, we champion individuality of place and intensity of flavor in each wine we produce

2006 Abre Vert Vineyard Pinot Noir
Willamette Valley

The 2006 Arbre Vert Pinot Noir displays ripe raspberry fruits along with hints of sweet plums and a creamy, vanilla flavored texture. The finish is long and the wine is really quit ... moree pretty. It is not a blockbuster by today’s standards but, rather, is a wine of balance and complexity. It is also one of our favorite wines with food, especially fish on the grill.

The Beran Vineyards is a newcomer to us, but hardly new in the wine world. We have enjoyed Bill and Sharon’s own wines for quite a few years so when the opportunity came up to ge ... moret a small amount of fruit from the oldest section of the vineyard (planted in 1972) we certainly couldn’t turn it down.

Deep and smoky flavors make this a perfect match for grilled meats.” We simply think the wine tastes fantastic.

The resulting Clos Pepe Pinot Noir is one of the better wines that we have produced from the vineyard. Big and rich, but never “over-the-top,” we believe this is a Clos that wi ... morell improve with some time in bottle. Wine Spectator rated this wine 91 Points and said this,“sleek, elegant and refined, showing a mix of dried currant, black cherry, herb and light cedary oak, with hints of spice and herb. The Garys’ Vineyard needs no introduction. It is undeniably and justifiably one of the most famous vineyards we deal with. That

This wine drinks well enough now but we have always had good success with aging our Hirsch Pinot Noirs. We have no doubts that this wine will improve for five or more years.

The Keefer Ranch is always one of our richest, but also most complex, Pinot Noirs. This is attributable to numerous factors, including the outstanding job that Marcy & Craig do in ... morefarming the vineyard, the cool Green Valley (western Russian River Valley) growing conditions, and the multitude of clones that we purchase and blend together. In fact, it is the unique clonal combination that makes this vineyard truly stand out. In 2006 we were extremely selective in which barrels made it into the cut for the final wine.

The finish is long and velvety. The 2006 Muirfield is a wine that is rich in texture, but not heavy-handed. It is drinking well now, but should continue to develop layers over the next 2-5 years.

The first taste reveals the fruit and richness that so often typifies Pisoni but as you continue to taste the wine you notice the influence of the whole clusters, the range of flav ... moreors from the native yeasts, and then a finish that combines ripe tannins and good natural acidity. The 20 ... more06 may be the fullestbodied SLH blend since that 1999 offering. This is due, in part, to the super 2006 vintage and also because of the prominence of Pisoni Vineyard fruit in the blend. There is truly something magical about these two fantastic vineyards. On their own they certainly produce two of our most distinctive and highly reviewed wines. And when blended to ... moregether the wine that is produced, this wine - the 2006 Siduri Sta. Rita Hills Pinot Noir - produces something altogether different than the vineyards separately. The 2006 Siduri Sta. Rita Hills Pinot Noir is a blend of 66% Cargasacchi Vineyard Pinot Noir and 34% Clos Pepe fruit. The wine was fermented in a combination of tanks and oneton bins using a significant percentage of whole clusters (this is particularly true on the Cargasacchi part of the blend). Aged in 50% new French oak for 10 months, the wine was ultimately bottled without fining or filtration in August of 2007.

With blackberry, blueberry, and even hints of pepper and chocolate this impressive Pinot Noir drinks well now but will undoubtedly cellar well for 5+ years.

2006 Sonoma County Pinot Noir
Sonoma County

The Sonoma County Pinot Noir is a blend of five different vineyards scattered from the far western edge of the Russian River Valley to Sonoma Mountain. Specifically, the wine is a ... moreblend of 33% Sapphire Hill Pinot Noir, 25% Van der Kamp, 23% Lewis, 13% Amber Ridge, and 6% Keefer Ranch fruit. This also makes the wine a blend of multiple Pinot Noir clones – including 115, 667, 777, 828, Martini, and a rather old but unidentified clone of Pinot Noir grown up at the Van der Kamp site. Given this diversity of material and location we should be able to make a wine that is at least somewhat entertaining. In 2006, we went beyond entertainment and produced a wine that is both complex and satisfying.

We took a different approach in coming up with the final blend for the 2006 Russian River Pinot Noir. Historically, we have blended all of the remaining barrels from each of our Ru ... moressian River sites and then subtracted varying parts from the blend. This year we tasted each section from each vineyard blind and came up with different possible blends. This procedure is more time consuming, and definitely leads to a more strict selection (for example, we left out some pretty high profile sections including the 777 from the Keefer Ranch and all of the remaining barrels from the Amber Ridge Vineyard. These lots found their way into the Sonoma County bottling), but we ultimately felt that it produced a far better wine.

What specifically is Sonoma Coast-ish about this wine? For starters it demonstrates the forest floor, mushroom-like aromas that are so common to Sonoma Coast designated wines. It a ... morelso has good levels of natural acidity - a product perhaps of the cool, windswept Petaluma Gap area (and the rightful appellation of the vineyard although it is not yet recognized by the government). This acid accentuates the tangy raspberry fruit in the wine. And, finally, this wine performed best with only a kiss of new oak (15%) rounding out the finish but allowing the character of the vineyard to shine through.

We went through and tasted numerous different possible blends before we arrived at this combination. We then racked the barrels together by gravity and went back to barrel. All tol ... mored, we kept this wine in barrel for 16 months and bottled it unfined and unfiltered. The Truett Nolan Pinot Noir is designed to be a wine of great balance with richness
and yet enough backbone and acidity to allow it to age well. It already demonstrated complex red and black fruit flavors as well as hints of herbs and earth. The finish is long, closing down now and only hinting at the overall greatness that the wine possesses. We would imagine this wine would age well for up to 10 years.

2006 Willamette Valley Pinot Noir
Willamette Valley

We have been sourcing grapes from the Willamette Valley for a dozen years now but honestly don't recall a vintage like 2006. Yields were high - potentially too high for the grapes ... moreto fully ripen - but ripen they did. In fact, there’s a group of folks that think the 2006 Oregon Pinots are too ripe, too immediately accessible. We don’t agree with that assessment. Perhaps 2003 seemed too ripe to us, but in 2006 the high yields slowed the grapes’ sugar accumulation keeping it in-line with flavor development. This was the best of both worlds with the only potential downside being a dilution of flavors due to the higher yields. To combat this we bled off a significant portion of juice, costing us a great deal of money but making a significantly better wine. The 2006 Willamette Valley Pinot Noir is one of the results of this superb growing season and strict winemaking regime. The 2006 Siduri Willamette Valley Pinot Noir has already received numerous accolades including a 3 1/2 star rating from The Press Democrat and a superb review from Wine Spectator Magazine where it was described this way, “Crisp in texture, with an open feel to the plum and floral aromas and flavors, lingering on the
