2005 Rued Vineyard Chardonnay
Rued Vineyard, Green Valley-Russian River Valley

In 2005, Mother Nature gave Russian River the kind of year we always hope for, but don't often get. We had early budbreak, then great vine growth from late spring rains; perfect fl ...moreowering conditions for the chards, followed by a cool summer and moderate, dry late harvest weather. Consequently, the fruit ripened slowly and evenly; retaining its acid while building flavor and concentration. We were rewarded with a Rued offering of particular density, balance and longevity, even for this vineyard. It draws one in with aromas of pear, lychee, lilac, ginger and toffee. In the mouth it continues the orgy of opulence, but balanced with moderate alcohol and bright acidity which enables the fresh spiced pear and tropical fruit to shine through to the finish. Clearly this is a special vintage of a special wine for us. Dan loves nothing more than great aged chardonnays, and this one should certainly fit that bill in 5 to 15 years. In the meantime, it will show wonderfully now with almost any lobster or crab dish, or a roasted game bird. 564 cases. 95 points, Wine Enthusiast.

2006 Pinot Blanc
Shop Block, Russian River Valley

When Steve said he had a couple of rows of Pinot Blanc at the main Dutton Ranch Shop available last year, we couldn't resist the opportunity to make this wine. Pinot Blanc, the whi ...morete grape cousin of Pinot Noir, is a natural choice for the cold valley site at the original home ranch. The classic Green Valley conditions of cold, foggy nights and sunny days enhances the varietal's aromatics, bright acidity and cleansing minerality. Our 2006 Pinot Blanc is crisp and fresh, with juicy apricot and peach aromas and steely just-picked apple flavors. It's a racy, bright wine, cool and refreshing for sipping on a hot summer afternoon or evening. We made just 112 cases from this small block.

2005 Rattlesnake Rock Syrah, Santa Cruz Mountains
Estate, Santa Cruz Mountains

The 2005 growing season was our longest and coolest of four released vintages. We picked the fruit in five separate picks starting on the 27th of September and finishing on October ...more 9th. Fruit quality was exceptional with small berries, ripe skins and small clusters. Yields were at two tons per acre. The finished wine is a deep garnet with notes of wildberry, sage, corriander, mocha, roasted meat and cigar box on the nose. The dense, compact tannins coat the mouth and the kirsch, rhubarb, roasted fig, cigar box and pepper lay comfortably across the mid-palate. With decanting, the fruit and floral qualities begin to emerge with a sustained finish that builds and lingers. If it is anything like the 2002, 2003 or 2004 vintages that came before it, it will reward several years of bottle age that will allow the the tannins to meld into the increasingly expressive dark fruit core. This is a big wine that balances strength with suppleness.

2006 Branciforte Ridge Pinot Noir, Santa Cruz Mountains
Branciforte Ridge, Santa Cruz Mountains

Being in a cool climate, ocean-influenced mountain appellation, we could no longer resist the temptation of making a Pinot Noir. The 2006 Branciforte Ridge is, we believe, a classi ...morec example of Santa Cruz Mountain Pinot Noir (which have been made here since the 60s) with fruit, structure, mouthfeel and a long finish woven into one sustained, harmonious whole. We harvested at an ideal ripeness with balanced tannins and acidity that the mountain climate promotes. Bright cherry, raspberry and even some cherry blossom come through on the nose, and are supported in the mouth by a firm foundation of minerality, crushed rocks and redwoods. For a delicate and subtle wine, there is a substantial body and mouthfeel. Silky tannins and firm acidity play strongly on the mid-palate and carry a the beam of that bright red fruit through to a long, lingering finish. This wine has evolved substantially during barrel aging and will surely continue to do so for some time yet in the bottle. Enjoyable now, it will further integrate and develop with several years in your cellar.

2006 'Vine One' Chardonnay

Because so many Chardonnay wines today emphasize their oak character, we wanted to return to old world techniques for making a wine that distinguishes itself with the quality of it ...mores fruit. To reach this goal we fermented about half of the wine in tank and the remaining half in French oak barrels. The stainless steel component showcases the unique fruit in this wine while the barrel component adds a texture and richness to the final blend.

Look for the lively aromas of apricot, peach, and floral notes. The fruit shines in this lightly-oaked wine and a mineral component adds to the complexity. The bright acidity and lean style make it a great food wine. Enjoy it with Rosemary Roasted Chicken or fresh seafood.

2007 Muscat Canelli

The 2007 Muscat Canelli opens with aromas of orange, apricot, peach, and a slight floral note. Each mouth-watering sip demonstrates a fine balance of between the sweetness of the s ...moreugar and crisp flavors of the wine. The wine finishes long and clean with a slight note of spice. It pairs well with spicy Asian dishes or serve after dinner with fresh fruit and angel food cake. We also suggest our Grilled Pineapple Salsa or with a Muscat Berry Layer Cake.

2006 Mojo Red

Husch has seen several generations of family over the years and now the fourth generation is toddling through the winery. At age 5 Morgan Joseph ('Mojo') isn't quite a full fledged ...more winemaker, but he is a favorite with tasting room staff and visitors.

Our goal with the wine has not changed. You can still expect a Cabernet Sauvignon based wine that is affordable and ready to drink tonight. With the 2006 vintage we blended Cabernet Sauvignon (71%) and Carignane (29%). Approach this wine with high expectations; despite the price this wine is hand crafted in small batches.

The 2006 vintage offers a deep garnet color. Aromas reminisce of black cherry and blackberry -- with a hint of tobacco and clove. The wine offers similar flavors, a nice structure, and a little smoke on the finish.

Mojo Red is meant to be enjoyed while young (it is served as the "house red" at many Mendocino County restaurants) and is an excellent affordable choice for a large gathering. Try it with grilled steaks, pasta, pizza or your favorite burger.

2006 LA Blanc

Husch holds a strong belief that wine should be affordable, especially within our own local community. For this reason, we blend each year a white table wine that can be enjoyed by ...more our friends and neighbors on a daily basis. Not surprisingly, our LA Blanc is a favorite with local restaurants and neighbors who drop by the tasting room to pick up a case. In 2003 we renamed the wine to pay tribute to Luke and Amelia, the fourth generation in the H.A. Oswald family.

This year’s vintage is an enticing blend of Sauvignon Blanc and Chardonnay with a touch of Muscat Canelli and Gewurztraminer. The grapes were harvested and brought directly from the vineyards to the winery where they were immediately pressed. The Sauvignon Blanc, Muscat Canelli, and Gewurztraminer juice was cold-fermented slowly in stainless steel tanks to preserve the subtle aromas and flavors of the varieties. The Chardonnay was barrel fermented and then racked-up to tank for aging.

The resulting wine has initial aromas of honeydew, wildflowers, apple and pear. It finishes off-dry, with a crisp finish and lingering tones of tropical fruit and orange peel.

This versatile wine is excellent with light entrees of p

2002 Cabernet Sauvignon
Napa Valley

The 2002 Broman Napa Valley Cabernet is a perfect blend of two very well-known and esteemed vineyards. The fruit is sourced from the Dr. Crane vineyard in Saint Helena and the Geor ...moreges III vineyard in Rutherford along the Silverado Trail. These vineyards consistently produce fruit that is intense, concentrated and well-balanced.

Winemaker’s Notes: The 2002 Cabernet Sauvignon from Broman Cellars exhibits pronounced dark fruit, black cherry and cassis flavors. A touch of anise on the nose along with a hint of leather rounds out this elegant and complex wine. Finely integrated tannins and an extended finish make this wine a classic.
