2006 Chardonnay
Napa Valley

Our goal with the Estate Chardonnay is to craft a wine of natural acid balance that is fruit forward and expressive of our land and what nature gives us each year. The light straw ...morecolor of the 2006 chardonnay exhibits intense aromas of pear, almond, butterscotch and spice that layer with flavors of fig, tropical fruits and spice in a full-bodied, round and creamy chardonnay with good acidity, a subtle touch of spicy oak, and a long finish. This wine is a splendid accompaniment to a wide range of foods, even spicier dishes, or is equally enjoyable to just sip on its own.

It will provide its best drinking over the next two years. This wine has an even creamier finish than the 2005 as it is fully malolactic fermented.

Only 720 cases made. This wine is always the first to sell out - we expect it to be gone by the end of the year. Order yours today so you don't miss out.

1999 "Estate" Pinot Noir
Santa Cruz Mountains

There is a very deep component of Pinot Noir fruit in both the aroma and flavors. The flavors yield a deep extract of cherries and Santa Rosa plums, layered around complexities of ...morepeppery spiciness, with hints of wood smoke and lilac. In the mouth the wine has a rich texture, great acidity, and a lingering finish of deep Pinot Noir fruit.

This wine is just now starting to open up and reveal its tremendous depth and complexity. Enjoy it now with some breathing time or it’s a good candidate to forget about in your cellar and then discover just how wonderful these big Pinot Noirs can be with time.

2003 Sausal Cabernet Sauvignon
Alexander Valley

Like all Sausal varietals, this comes from 100% estate grown grapes. This wine is also 100% Cabernet Sauvignon and so displays the true character and flavors of this widely know va ...morerietal. After twenty months in American oak barrels, this wine is allowed to rest another five months in the bottle. The result is a rich, classic, Alexander Valley Cabernet. This wine pairs very well with leg of lamb, grilled skirt steak or veal parmigiana. Our Cabernet will cellar well for at least five years.

2006 Merlot
Napa Valley

The merlot for our 2006 vintage is a blend of vineyards from St.Helena, Rutherford, and South Napa. Each source varies in temperature, showcasing the differences in the Napa Valley ...more mesoclimates. Low yielding vines in the cooler regions of the Napa Valley helped produce small berries with impressive intensity while the warmer climate fruit is riper, with voluptuous texture, adding richness to the wine.

The Folie à Deux 2006 Merlot will tease your nose with blueberry and blackberry, with underlying hints of vanilla and a touch of cocoa. Berry cobbler flavors with touches of nutmeg will please your palate. Our Culinary Center Chefs favor Merlot for many of our trademark dishes. The fullness and richness of our Folie a Deux Merlot is the perfect accompaniment to our Grilled Lamb Loin with Deep Fried Parsnip Chips accented with a Dried Bing Cherry Reduction. Enjoy.
