On the morning side of Mount Diablo in Contra Costa County lies a land of rich soil and abundant fresh water. It is a land of warm sunny days and cool delta nights. It is a region quietly revered since the Portuguese and Italians first planted their vines over 100 years ago. It is a place we call home. | Brentwood, CA Phone: 925-513-8463 Website: http://www.tamayofamilyvineyards.com Appellation: Contra Costa County Tasting Room: Private Tours and Tastings Available. 2004 Syrah Contra Costa County
The 2004 vintage granted us an opportunity to separate prime lots of our estate Syrah into two bottlings. The larger piece of the harvest made its way to our "Celebration Red". The ... more smaller barrel lots are found here in our freshman release of Tamayo Syrah.
This wine displays bright red fruit while the influence of sweet French and American Oak vanilla playfully intermingles with our signature cocoa dust nuance. On the palate, this red favors finesse over power by offering bramble berry fruit impressions framed by white peppercorn and Asian spices. Once again this estate vineyard favors offering wines that pair well with grilled entrees and full flavored cuisines.

1998 Brut Sparkling Wine Carneros
This late disgorged sparkler is made from intensely
flavored Carneros Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. This
wine is all about intensity, balance, depth and
complexit ... morey. The Carneros fog shrouded summer
mornings and the blending of several Dijon and
special field selection clones of Pinot Noir and
Chardonnay gives this wine a multiplicity of fruit
flavors including pear, honeydew melon, peach,
guava and apricot. Beautifully blanace and multilayered,
this wine also has vanilla, oak smoke,
caramel and hints of chocolate and spice that evolve
over time in your glass. Perfect acid balance tingles
the tongue keeping the fruit lively while preserving
it’s creamy fullness. Over 5 years on the yeast
produces a rich texture with the subtle complexity of
aged soft cheese and a fine bubble structure that
heightens the sensation of roundness. This wine will
continue to age gracefully and compliment both
those you are sharing it with and your food well.

2006 Celebration Rosé Contra Costa County
Help us Reach Our Goal!
Our goal at Tamayo Family Vineyards is to raise $7,000 as a team donation to the San Francisco Walk for Hope to Cure Breast Cancer. This annu ... moreal fund-raising event supports breast cancer research, treatment and education at City of Hope, a National Cancer Institute-designated Comprehensive Cancer Center. With each bottle of CANA Rosé sold, Tamayo Family Vineyards will add contributions to our Team Donation. Together we can make a difference!
Our sophomore release of CANA Rosé takes a delicious 'varietal' path by including our estate grown Syrah as the featured grape. This dry blush wine displays real Syrah character with abundant aromatics of strawberry, rhubarb and notes of white pepper with some dusty cocoa. The palate is vivid with flavor and depth. Showing tastes of splashy black raspberries and refreshing acidity, this is a serious Rosé that appeals well to the avid and novice wine lover with equal endearment.
This pleasing medium bodied wine creates the perfect foil for Turkey, Ham and lighter game meals. Serve either chilled or at cellar temperature.

2003 J. Jaden Red Dessert Wine Contra Costa County
Yes, this is Port!
A deliciously sweet red wine reminiscent of the classic dessert red from Portugal. When our growing region in Contra Costa County in California was settle ... mored and planted with grapes over 100 years ago, Portuguese immigrants must have imagined a wine like this - rich and lush with delicious notes of candied fruit, English Toffee and more!
Our second grandson, Jeremy Jaden, graces the label of our most cellar-worthy wine. Both hold the promise of many sweet memorable years of future enjoyment.

2003 Syrah Contra Costa County
This, the fourth release of Syrah from our beautiful Contra Costa estate vineyards, is a fine example of our rich soils yielding an approachable, yet muscular red wine from a chall ... moreenging vintage. Ripe black plum fruit couple with dried herbs and spice rack nuances, crown the aromas of this delicious red. On the palate, this expansive wine shows its Syrah stuffing with spicy broad flavors of blackberry cobbler and cocoa dust.
We have enjoyed showing the versatility of this wine by pairing it with entrée courses of grilled meats right through rich chocolate dessert courses. Try it yourself!
