The Duke V is the greatest Duke yet, as we used only top tier grapes. The Duke V is a blend of Merlot, Cabernet sauvignon and Zinfandel. We know you will love it, and at only $8 a bottle, it is a real steal!

2006 Mojo Red

Husch has seen several generations of family over the years and now the fourth generation is toddling through the winery. At age 5 Morgan Joseph ('Mojo') isn't quite a full fledged ...more winemaker, but he is a favorite with tasting room staff and visitors.

Our goal with the wine has not changed. You can still expect a Cabernet Sauvignon based wine that is affordable and ready to drink tonight. With the 2006 vintage we blended Cabernet Sauvignon (71%) and Carignane (29%). Approach this wine with high expectations; despite the price this wine is hand crafted in small batches.

The 2006 vintage offers a deep garnet color. Aromas reminisce of black cherry and blackberry -- with a hint of tobacco and clove. The wine offers similar flavors, a nice structure, and a little smoke on the finish.

Mojo Red is meant to be enjoyed while young (it is served as the "house red" at many Mendocino County restaurants) and is an excellent affordable choice for a large gathering. Try it with grilled steaks, pasta, pizza or your favorite burger.

2002 Dad's Daily Red
Mendocino County

My Scandinavian family started drinking wine when Dad developed stomach ulcers as a result of the insufficient nutrition he endured in the harsh jungle living conditions of the Pac ...moreific war zone during World War II. His severe physical state necessitated major surgical operations in the 1950’s leaving him with only a small portion of his stomach intact. His doctor, Horace McCorkle of the University of California in San Francisco had remarkable insight for his time, recommending Dad consume a daily glass of red wine with meals to aid his impaired digestion. Fred embraced this enlightened concept and had no need of further surgery. Over 50 years later he's a vigorously healthy veteran celebrating a full life at 84, still helping his daughter around the winery, and still drinking his favorite red wine!

2006 MĂ©nage Ă  Trois Red
Napa Valley

Ménage à Trois red brings together three strange bedfellows: Zinfandel, Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon. To add complexity and retain character, each variety was fermented separate ...morely, then blended together prior to bottling. On top we’ve got Zinfandel, a saucy tease that brings blackberry and raspberry jam to the relationship. Merlot, with its generous mouth feel and red fruits, fits perfectly in the middle. The rich flavors and firm tannins of Cabernet Sauvignon make it the ideal candidate for the bottom layer of the trio.

Our 2006 MĂ©nage Ă  Trois exposes the fresh, ripe, jam-like fruit that is the calling card of California wine. Forward, silky and soft, this delicious dalliance makes the perfect accompaniment for grilled meats or chicken.

2005 Red Blend
Mencarini Vineyards - Lodi

The 2005 ABUNDANTLY RICH RED is made entirely from our Mencarini Family grapes in Lodi. This vintage of our famous Rich Red is another stellar addition to our reputation for produc ...moreing outstanding, value oriented wines.

The rich blend of old California varietals Zinfandel and Carignane leaves nothing to the imagination. This wine is loaded with intense fruity aromas of Bing cherries, plums and blackberries in contrast with chocolate and toasty aromas contributed by the judicious use of oak barrels. The mouth feel is full with soft, ripe tannins, and the finish is long and almost sweet without being sugary.

This is a “zero intimidation” wine that can be enjoyed with a variety of foods. Cheers!

As harvest draws near, hawks can be seen circling high above the vineyard, performing the essential service of discouraging grape-eating linnets and starlings from ravaging the vines.
