2001 Granite Crown

From the same plot that gave us the marvelous syrah for the legendary bottlings of our Syrah Première Cuvée, this offering shows velvety, deep fruit flavors that suggest mulberry ...more and blueberry. The distinctive Renaissance terroir is evident in the minerality and in the remarkable depth of fruit. This is a very large-scale wine that, while drinking well now, will reward long-term aging. The refined tannin is very well worked and there is no hint of harshness while maintaining firmness on the palate.

2005 Rockin’ One
Paso Robles

90pts from Stephen Tanzer! Our Rockin One is a blend of Syrah, Mourvedre, and Grenache. Syrah provides a strong tannin base with a velvety finish, while the Mourvedre adds a smoky ...morenose with ample tobacco supporting it. With a strawberry-jam nose and spicy finish, a good swirl and you can understand what Grenache adds to the blend. Our Rockin One goes nicely with guava glazed pork tenderloin, but don't be afraid to enjoy as an after meal treat on your back patio, with a glass in one hand and a cigar in the other.

Husch Vineyards
Rate this wine

2003 Grand Oz

It was our Grandfather – “Grand Oz” - who introduced our family to grape-growing and wine. A longtime farmer, HA Oswald, Jr. grew some of Mendocino County’s best grapes at ...morethe family vineyard and produced some of the region’s finest wines. While every bottle of Husch carries his name we thought it fitting that this exclusive wine be named in his honor.

The inaugural vintage of Grand Oz is a Cabernet Sauvignon and Syrah blend – using the best fruit from HA Oswald’s home ranch combined with the best barrels in the winery. With only two barrels produced (540 bottles) this wine was nurtured from vineyard to bottle with extreme pride and care. Each bottle of Grand Oz was hand numbered, wax sealed and signed by third generation family owners, Zac Robinson and Amanda Holstine.

Understated and refined, this vintage is true to character. The dark Cabernet Sauvignon fruit shows rich cassis flavors with hints of cedar and eucalyptus. The beautiful bright fruit of the Syrah also brings an element of leather and smoke. The lower alcohol (12.4%) of this vintage allows it to pair well with food as well as age gracefully in the bottle.
