Clos Saron |
2007 Carte Blanche Sierra Foothills
Light straw yellow. Intensely aromatic, expressing mainly flowers, herbs, and spices, with berries and some oak in the background. Medium-full bodied, lean, pure, and intensely fla ...morevorful. Again, flowers/herbs/minerals, with ample ripeness and fruit giving it a perfect balance. Unusually intense and persistent, truly elegant. This wine should evolve over many years (15+) and will keep changing in the process… One thing to note is that between every two "in focus" points of its evolution, this type of wine may well go "out of focus" and taste a little ackward, weird, tired, sometimes even appear oxydized before showing well again. Something like a snake shedding its skin…

Deux Amis Winery |
2004 Halling Vineyard Zinfandel Halling Vineyard
"Wow" best describes our '04 Halling Vineyard Zinfandel. Enticing aromas of ripe mixed berries and sweet vanillin oak blend with a dusting of fine-quality black pepper. Delicious l ...moreayers meld to create a luscious wave of flavors - rich blackberry, raspberry and blueberry, creamy coffee and vanilla, with subtle yet spicy black pepper lacing through the background. From the ideal balance of softening tannins, toasty oak and lush fruit emerges an irrestible wine. Drink now, or if you have the will power cellar it for two to five years to allow the flavors to continue to develop. |

Deux Amis Winery |
2004 Petite Sirah Alexander Valley
Each whiff offers a new series of aromas-blackberry, licorice, cola, black pepper, plum and more. Then all of these characteristics reappear on the palate, tightly wrapped around t ...morehe raspberry and vanillin oak core. The robust flavors and mouth feel beg for sheppard's pie, beef stew, tri-tip grilled medium-rare or a decadent chocolate dessert. Give this wine a little little cellar aging and you'll find it hard to keep your hands off it.
Alex Vyborny's vineyard, located in the heart of the Alexander Valley, is the source of Deux Amis' 2004 Petite Sirah. The terraced, low yielding vineyard produces incredibly intense and rich fruit year after year. |

Dutton Goldfield |
2005 Rued Vineyard Chardonnay Rued Vineyard, Green Valley-Russian River Valley
In 2005, Mother Nature gave Russian River the kind of year we always hope for, but don't often get. We had early budbreak, then great vine growth from late spring rains; perfect fl ...moreowering conditions for the chards, followed by a cool summer and moderate, dry late harvest weather. Consequently, the fruit ripened slowly and evenly; retaining its acid while building flavor and concentration. We were rewarded with a Rued offering of particular density, balance and longevity, even for this vineyard. It draws one in with aromas of pear, lychee, lilac, ginger and toffee. In the mouth it continues the orgy of opulence, but balanced with moderate alcohol and bright acidity which enables the fresh spiced pear and tropical fruit to shine through to the finish. Clearly this is a special vintage of a special wine for us. Dan loves nothing more than great aged chardonnays, and this one should certainly fit that bill in 5 to 15 years. In the meantime, it will show wonderfully now with almost any lobster or crab dish, or a roasted game bird. 564 cases. 95 points, Wine Enthusiast.

Dutton Goldfield |
2006 Pinot Blanc Shop Block, Russian River Valley
When Steve said he had a couple of rows of Pinot Blanc at the main Dutton Ranch Shop available last year, we couldn't resist the opportunity to make this wine. Pinot Blanc, the whi ...morete grape cousin of Pinot Noir, is a natural choice for the cold valley site at the original home ranch. The classic Green Valley conditions of cold, foggy nights and sunny days enhances the varietal's aromatics, bright acidity and cleansing minerality. Our 2006 Pinot Blanc is crisp and fresh, with juicy apricot and peach aromas and steely just-picked apple flavors. It's a racy, bright wine, cool and refreshing for sipping on a hot summer afternoon or evening. We made just 112 cases from this small block.

Folie A Deux Winery |
2006 Merlot Napa Valley
The merlot for our 2006 vintage is a blend of vineyards from St.Helena, Rutherford, and South Napa. Each source varies in temperature, showcasing the differences in the Napa Valley ...more mesoclimates. Low yielding vines in the cooler regions of the Napa Valley helped produce small berries with impressive intensity while the warmer climate fruit is riper, with voluptuous texture, adding richness to the wine.
The Folie Ă Deux 2006 Merlot will tease your nose with blueberry and blackberry, with underlying hints of vanilla and a touch of cocoa. Berry cobbler flavors with touches of nutmeg will please your palate. Our Culinary Center Chefs favor Merlot for many of our trademark dishes. The fullness and richness of our Folie a Deux Merlot is the perfect accompaniment to our Grilled Lamb Loin with Deep Fried Parsnip Chips accented with a Dried Bing Cherry Reduction. Enjoy.
