2005 Chardonnay
Wild Oak, Sonoma County

Wild Oak Chardonnay is a crisp yet full-bodied chardonnay that offers plush fruit in a clearly Burgundian context. The blend draws on outstanding sections of eight vineyards in div ... moreerse parts of Sonoma County, including the St. Francis Estate in Sonoma Valley. About one-third is from the Yamakawa Vineyard in the wind-chilled Carneros-Sonoma AVA, which lends a high-toned purity and lemon chiffon flavor with bracing acidity. Vineyards in Dry Creek Valley, Alexander Valley, and Russian River Valley impart floral overtones, a touch of tropical fruit, and pinpoint acid balance, all finished with a wonderfully creamy texture and the butterscotch-vanilla undertones from French oak.

2004 Cabernet Franc
McCoy Vineyard, Sonoma County

The McCoy Vineyard has long been praised for grapes of intense flavors and concentrated aromas and the 2004 vintage is no exception. Perched along the western slopes of the M ... moreayacamas Range, it overlooks northern Sonoma Valley, and is a lovely example of the varietal from a vineyard that has consistently provided St. Francis with exceptional fruit. Cabernet Franc ripens earlier and thrives in slightly cooler climates than its “sister” Cabernet Sauvignon. The small intensely flavorful clusters are hand-picked at a mature 25.5 Brix. A nice slow fermentation gives the wine richness and viscosity, and aging 24 months in both French and American oak has imparted a fullness to the wine’s mouthfeel. If you enjoy Cabernet Franc, this full-bodied vintage with notes of blackberry, cassis and leather will surely delight. Made in a very limited quantity, this single vineyard wine is available only at the Winery.

2003 Cabernet Sauvignon
Nuns Canyon Reserve, Sonoma County

The 2003 growing season was characterized by mild weather early on, and culminated in several periods of intense heat during the end of the season. As a result, our Nuns Canyon Res ... moreerve Cabernet Sauvignon developed firm tannins and concentrated black fruit flavors. To soften the wine and add lushness to the mid-palate, we blended in 10% Merlot from our Behler Estate Vineyard, which ripened earlier in the season, and 10% Petit Verdot from the Rockpile Vineyard to add spiciness to the flavor profile. Aging the wine for two full years in French oak barrels adds hazelnut, almond and vanilla flavors to this complex Cabernet Sauvignon. After one year of bottle aging, the wine is ready to drink now, and will continue to evolve for up to 12 years in proper cellar conditions.

2003 Anthem Meritage
Sonoma Valley

Petit Verdot, Malbec and Cabernet Franc from the Robert Hunter Vineyard in the heart of the Sonoma Valley are the traditional backbone of our Anthem blend, and comprised 87% of our ... more 2003 Anthem blend. Each year, these grapes are first blended and then fermented, pressed and aged in French oak barrels together to allow their complex, intense flavors to marry. After two years in oak, we blend in a small amount of the very best wines from the vintage to complete this unique proprietary blend. We selected 5.75% Merlot, 4.25% Cabernet Sauvignon and 3% Petit Verdot, all from the McCoy vineyard, as our finishing wines for this year’s blend. Our Anthem is a unique twist on the traditional Cabernet Sauvignon- and Merlot-based Meritage blend, presenting instead the spicy tobacco and cedar notes that are typical of Petit Verdot and the exotic perfume and juicy, luscious mouthfeel of Malbec. A vibrant and eloquent offering, this wine truly lives up to its name, Anthem.

2004 Mourvedre
Pagani Vineyard, Sonoma Valley

As popular as Mourvedre is in the south of France, it has kept a very low profile in California. But for those who already appreciate this silky-soft RhĂ´ne varietal, the sma ... morell production of this wine will be memorable. The grapes were grown on the famed Pagani Vineyard in Sonoma Valley—a vineyard known for highly acclaimed Zinfandels—and hand-picked at the peak of ripeness. The 2004 vintage of the Pagani Vineyard Mourvedre is of medium weight with moderate tannins and is one of the biggest Mourvedres to date from the Pagani Vineyard. It boasts spicy cherry and berry flavors and pairs wonderfully with all kinds of food. Made in a very limited quantity, this single-vineyard wine is available only at the Winery.

2005 Viognier
Russian River Valley

The Russian River Valley provides the perfect microclimate for growing aromatic, spicy Viognier grapes. Temperate, sunny days and cool nights extend the growing season and provide ... morethe hang time necessary to concentrate these grapes’ exotic aromas. Hand-picked on September 27th, 2005 at 25.5º Brix, at optimum ripeness, the grape clusters were immediately pressed to release their tart, straw-colored juice. After cold-settling for 24 hours in a tank, the juice was racked to neutral (4 year old) French oak barrels for fermentation, and stirred weekly on its lees to enhance the richness and viscosity of the mid-palate. Then, the wine was racked off of its lees and was bottled on July 7th, 2006. After eight months of bottle aging, this perfumey, slightly off-dry wine is ready to be enjoyed.

2005 Zinfandel
Dry Creek Valley

The family owned Zichichi Vineyard, located in the Dry Creek Valley, is often referred to as a “Zinfandel paradise.” Grapes grown in this northern Sonoma County appellation ben ... moreefit from long warm days followed by cool nights, producing fruit of unique quality and intensity. This old vine vineyard dates back to the 1930s and is an ancestral field blend of Zinfandel, Carignane and Petite Sirah. The 2005 harvest from the Zichichi family vineyard was hand-picked at 24.8 Brix, fermented on the skins to enhance color and flavor extraction, then aged 14 months in American oak. Deeply colored and ladened with flavors reminiscent of soft plumy fruit, boysenberry, currant and smoke, this full bodied wine finishes with a spicy edge and a sensual richness that Zin lovers won’t want to miss. Made in limited quantity, this single vineyard wine is available only at the Winery.
