Bordeaux

6052 visitors
Red Bordeaux, which is traditionally known as claret in the United Kingdom, is generally made from a blend of grapes. Permitted grapes are Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Merlot, Petit Verdot, Malbec, and Carmenere. Today Malbec is very seldom used, and Carmenere is used in tiny quantities. An example of a famous château that uses Carmenere is Château Clerc Milon, a fifth growth Bordeaux.

White Bordeaux, including the sweet Sauternes, is made from Sauvignon Blanc, Semillon, and Muscadelle.

Thre ...moree bordeaux varietals and one rhone make up this co-fermented blend. Cabernet Sauvignon is the backbone of this wine with Cabernet Franc, Petitie Verdot & Carignane. Aged in small older oak barrels for 18 months to promote the mixed bright fruit flavors without the overtone of oak. An old world styled wine with moderate alcohol. A Bordeaux-blend of 50 percent cabernet franc, 25 percent cabernet sauvignon, and 25 percent merlot. Gobs of red and black fruit combine to make this a deep, intriguing wine. Licor ...moreice, cedar, black currants and spicy oak. Exuberance with plenty of depth, richness, and subtle complexity make this wine a "best buy". Putting on weight in the bottle and taking on an elegantly pretty velvety texture. This wine has at least a 10 to 15 year life ahead of it. We are now into our last pallet of this wine so if you want it, don't delay.

2003 Trifecta
Napa County

Our third Trifecta is also off to a great start! 2003 gave the grapes a long time to ripen while keeping sugars in check and acidity in balance.
A swirl of this deep garnet ...more wine relases elegant aromas of spicy berries, leather and sweet alcohol. The palate is bright with youthful acidity, highlighting flavors of blackberry, black cherry, cocoa with a generous amount of toasted coconut contributed by the American and French oak. Tannins are grippy and the finish is amazing.
This is a wine you'll want to have stashed in your cellar, to savor over the next 5 to 12 years to come. If you can't wait that long, enjoy it tonight with grilled steaks, spice-rubbed chicken and rosemary roasted lamb. A votr Sante!

Paso Robles

This Bordeaux blend is unique! A blend of 50% Malbec/50% Petit Verdot, most wineries wouldn’t dare put these two varietals together without some percentage of Cabernet Sauvignon or ...more Merlot because of the high tannic structure. But we thought differently. Hints of raisins, plum, and tobacco from the Malbec paired with blackcurrants and the lovely scent of violets from the Petit Verdot make this wine both great to drink now or in 15 years.

St. Helena

Sorridente means smile in Italian, and it is our hope that this delicious blend of Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Aglianico will make your day a little brighter and cause you to sm ...moreile. The 2005 Sorridente is a big wine that has great aging potential. The deep purple hue is consistent with the blackberry, plum nose. There are notes of cocoa powder and rose petal and a definitive "Italianesque" bouquet that makes itself more apparent after the wine opens in the glass. It is an excellent pair with substantial dishes such as rack of lamb, veal shank and aged, hard cheeses. Enjoy at joyous occasions both grand and humble.
