The rocky soil and cool temperatures of our Alexander Mountain Estate vineyards produce fruit with intense color and flavor. Our distinctive wines are handcrafted to capture the essence of this mountain fruit. All our vineyards are planted at elevations between 500-2400 feet in elevation, on our 5,000 acre mountain estate. Most of our wines are available only from the tasting room and produced in quantities of less than 300 cases. | Healdsburg, CA Phone: 800-355-8008 Website: http://www.stonestreetwines.com Appellation: Alexander Valley Tasting Room: Open Daily with views of our 5,000 acre mountain estate.

1996 Legacy Alexander Valley
Vineyard Profile
On our Alexander Mountain Estate, the soil is thin, rocky and gravelly. This helps produce fruit that is complex, rich and concentrated. The ... morer />
seventh release of our Bordeaux-style blend.
Winemaker’s Notes
The 1996 is rich in spicy flavors reminiscent of cedar, cassis and dark chocolate. It is soft and supple on the palate now, and will develop further complexity over the next 10-15 years.

92 Points - "2005 CHARDONNAY UPPER BARN ALEXANDER VALLEY A vineyar ... mored made famous by Helen Turley in the 1990s, exhibits more brioche, white peach, apricot, and poached pear characteristics along with good underlying acidity (typical of the Chardonnay vintage). 2005 Christopher's Cabernet Sauvignon 2400 Feet above Alexander Valley
"Christopher’s Cabernet Sauvignon comes from block 82, which at 2,400 feet, is the highest elevation block on the estate. Its meager, rocky soils coupled with maritime breezes, a ... moremple sunshine and the inversions layer’s magic touch result in a complex spice profile (juniper, star anise) and savory plum/boysenberry fruit wrapped in dark chocolate flavors. A wine that is both gorgeously rich and firmly framed by tannins." - Graham Weerts, Winemaker
