Carmel Road Winery is located in the heart of Monterey County where the air is crisp and the tempo is relaxed and measured. In the mornings our vineyards are often shrouded in thick fog. Most afternoons a brisk Pacific Ocean wind blows southward along the ridge tops and benchlands of Salinas Valley delivering fresh, cool maritime air. For years our cold climate was a deterrent to many California vintners. Only recently was it discovered that Monterey is arguably the one of the best terroirs in the world for Burgundian varietals.

Since 1999 we have been producing hand-made Chardonnays and Pinot Noirs from some of the finest hillside and benchland vineyards in Monterey.
