Rhone Style Blend

Named after a star in the Canis Major constellation, our 2003 Adara is a blend of Carignane, Grenache and Syrah, three grape varietals common to the Rhone Valley of France. It has ...moresoft tannins and lively fresh fruit flavors of strawberries, plums and wild blueberries with hints of sage and lavender. Adara can be enjoyed alone or with a wide variety of foods including pasta, pork, chicken and lamb. Aged in French and American oak barrels, our production of this wine was approximately 750 cases.

This wine has the aroma of candied fruit: strawb ...moreerry, cranberry, earthy notes, leather and a hint of mint. The luscious aromas of fruit, earthiness and leather weave complex layers throughout the wine. The finish is very long, exuding berries, spices, and butterscotch. Open a bottle of Red Ink for dinner; you will not be disappointed. It's easy to drink, and very easy to enjoy. Cheers!

These tasting notes are often based on the winemakerâ€™s notes. Well, this time he told me that this %@#$! had aromas of peaches and butter. Have you ever buttered a peach? Just we ...moreird if you ask me. Then he goes on to mention creamy flavors of pear and truffles. Okay, now we have peaches and butter and pears and mushrooms. Is this insane or what? Well, I can tell you that this %@#$! is a lot yummier than that, and has body and character almost like a red wine. And it will even lay down for a few years. How cool is that? (as seen in the July 13, 2007 Wall Street Journal!)

This wine is a rich blend of 62% Marsanne and 38% Roussanne.
