2005 Private Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon Santa Clara Valley
The 2005 vintage opens in a classic Cabernet Sauvignon style—rich in color and full-bodied on the palate. Loads of aromatic rose, brambleberry fruit and cedar aromas with hints of anise and nutmeg fill the nose and continue to the palate. Tantalizing notes of pomegranate and leather add complexity to the finish. Nicely balanced oak and well-integrated tannins frame the richly extracted fruit and spice flavors and lead to a huge mouth filling finish that lingers long on the palate.
WINEMAKERS NOTES:
Produced from grapes grown by Dorcich Vineyards in our own Santa Clara Valley winegrowing district. This is the third bottling of our Private Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon from this vineyard, following on the heels of our Gold Medal winning 2003 & 2004 vintages. This robust style red would be perfect to serve with steaks and robust cheeses. This wine should continue to develop in the bottle over the next 5 to 7 years. The 2005 vintage produced 1250 cases.
