Lambert Bridge Winery Merlot |
2003 Merlot Sonoma County
2003 was an excellent vintage in Sonoma County. Cool weather in early spring was followed by good heat in the summer and ideal warm temperatures in September. This balance of weather conditions allowed the grapes to experience a “long hang time” to develop rich flavors and ripe, supple tannins. With this vintage our winemaking focus continues its shift to smaller production lots using this concentrated fruit. The resulting wine demonstrates flavors of ripe plum, black cherry, cassis and spice. While the composition may vary slightly from vintage to vintage, this Bordeaux style blend of Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc and Malbec consistently delivers the rich, full-bodied Merlot you have come to expect from Lambert Bridge Winery.
The complexity of this wine allows it to be partnered with a wide range of foods. Pair with mushroom ravioli, eggplant parmesan or chocolate fondue with strawberries. |
