2003 Winemaker's Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon
Alexander Valley

Deep Ruby with a purple edge, this reserve reflects the best of the vintage in Alexander Valley. The 2003 is a densely packed Cab which exhibits the typical black cherry, wild blackberry and cassis for which this appellation is known. The extended aging in superbly coopered new barrels has integrated the thick tannins and layered nuances of vanilla, espresso, baking spices and leather onto the already complex fruit aromas and flavors. This is a muscular Cabernet, typical of the vintage, which will age well over the next 10 years, but has plenty of accessible ripeness to appreciate upon release.
