Cabernet Sauvignon

1998 Cabernet Sauvignon
Stuhlmuller Vineyard

This single vineyard designated wine is a beautiful deep garnet color with multi-layered aromas of boysenberry, wild blackberry, chocolate and sweet, spicy oak. The big, ripe tannins in this wine coat the mouth with rich flavors of concentrated black fruits. These characteristics are the hallmark of the Alexander Valley appellation and this vineyard in particular, which is located on the western slope of the Russian River at the southern end of the valley. The extended barrel aging in 100 percent French oak adds nuances of toast, vanilla, and spices, increasing the complexity and enhancing the wine for many years to come.
