This single vineyard designated wine shows a beautiful deep ruby red color with a dark purple hue, and offers multi-layered aromas of boysenberry, wild blackberry, chocolate and sweet, spicy oak. The rich flavors of concentrated black fruit transfer to the palate in concert with big, ripe tannins. These characteristics are the hallmark of the Alexander Valley appellation and this vineyard in particular, which is located on the western slope of the Russian River at the southern end of the valley. The extended barrel aging in 100 percent French oak adds additional nuances of toast, vanilla, and spices, increasing the complexity and enhancing the wine for many years to come.
