Russian River Valley
The Russian River Valley is renowned for producing world class Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, Zinfandel and less known but equally excellent Syrah. The moderate climate with well-drained, loamy soils and cool morning fog keeps the temperatures from getting too hot and allows the exposed fruit to ripen evenly. We are excited to add this varietal to our collection.
Fresh blueberry and plum notes with a hint of blackberry predominate on the nose with vanilla and licorice. This wine has firm tannins framed by toasty oak with hints of black pepper and pipe tobacco; followed by a lingering finish. Versatile with many foods, Syrah pairs well with grilled meats, Mediterranean-style dishes and cheese.
