Gold Medal, Best of Class Award - California Appellation - 2007 California State Fair Commercial Wine Competition. Aged 18 months in American oak barrels, 20% in new barrels for the vanilla and toasty flavors that new oak imparts. Look for a bouquet of cherry and blackberry fruit, with notes of chocolate, leather, roasted coffee, and sweet oak. The tannins are mouth filling but soft, with a hint of smoke.
